The China Legal Education and Career Seminar Series (CLECSS) is one of the most influential private legal professional platforms within the Chinese-speaking legal community focusing on high-end cross-border and commercial legal practice.

CLECSS “Top 10 Outstanding Young Lawyers” award is an annual recognition conferred on outstanding young legal practitioners across different practice areas. Candidates are selected by a committee of senior legal professionals, which considers factors including professional achievement, dedication to the legal profession, commitment to helping others and contributing to society, and alignment with CLECSS’s “Think Big; Do Big” philosophy. The 2026 award recipients comprised eleven lawyers practising in jurisdictions including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Dual-qualified in the PRC and New York, Charles is a registered foreign lawyer in Singapore and focuses on complex, high-value cross-border commercial and investment disputes across a broad range of industries. He regularly appears in international arbitration under SIAC, ICC, LCIA, HKIAC, UNCITRAL and ICSID rules. Recognised by Benchmark Litigation for his work in China-related international arbitration, he is also the first foreign lawyer to be promoted to partnership in the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group.
